Working with Chicago-area YMCAs from the very start of the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve continued to evolve and adapt our cleaning, disinfecting and support services to ensure the safety of all those entering the centers… under constantly changing circumstances.
Challenges came early and often. During the lockdown period for example, well before reopening to members, many of our Chicago-area YMCA customers transformed their centers into shelters, providing housing for vulnerable populations. Others served as temporary hospital wards. Still others offered childcare and recreational programs for children of essential workers. And our services changed quickly and effectively to meet each new situation.
Today, as the nation’s recovery has progressed and YMCA centers have reopened, the thing that remains unchanged is the need to keep members and staff safe.
